Copy of How To Make Vietnamese Mung Bean and Peanut Sweet Rice (Xoi dau xanh va dau phung). Ingredient: For Sweet Rice
1. 3 small bowls of sweet rice soaked overnight then drain let sit for 20 minutes
2. 1 12 oz bag of mung beans washed until clear water and soaked overnight then drain as above
3. 1 12 oz bag of peanut with skin on soaked just like above or cook in boiling water plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda for 20-25 minutes depends how soft you want peanuts to be cooked. Then drained and rinsed again to wash out baking soda.
4. Now in a separate big preparing bowl, mix rice, mungs , peanuts, and 1 teaspoon of salt together. then put the mixture in steaming pot and steam for 15 min then removed lid and sprinkle coconut sauce onto the rice. Use a chopstick or fork to mix sauce into the rice evenly. Then close lid and steam for another 20 min. At this time the rice should turn clear, then you're done. Pour the cooked sweet rice onto a cookie sheet spread it out and let it cool. when eat sprinkle a mixture of (1/3 cup crusted roast sesame seeds, 3 tablespoon sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoon salt)
How to make coconut sauce (this has been improvised after the video)
1/2 14oz coconut can; 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt : mix all together well and set aside until needed.
